Is it possible to turn an arranged alliance by your orthodox family into a memorable wedding? The answer is yes. For proof meet Shabin K S and his bride Naiseena T A whose wedding was a mesmerising experience to the guests.
The wedding reception which was held on August 7 at St Michael's Parish Hall, Chembumukku, will be etched in the minds of those who attended it, especially because of the grand way it was conducted.
Like many of their contemporaries, Shabin and Naiseena's fate were decided by their families. As both Shabin, a businessman from Kochi, and Naiseena, who is pursuing a post-graduate course at St Teresa's College in the city, belong to orthodox families, it was their elders who decided everything.
After completing all the religious customs the official engagement was held on January 24, 2016, at the bride's residence in Perumbavoor. For this family-only affair, the bride wore a beautiful gown from Seematti and the groom was in a Louis Philippe formal wear.
After the very long engagement period, the elders of the family fixed August 7 as the wedding day.
As the big day approached the hunt for the perfect wedding wear also started and finally the bride found her dream wear in a beautiful maroon saree from Seematti. And the groom decided to go with a royal blue custom-made Linen Club suit.
It was not just the wedding day, but the wedding eve was also special. Both the bride and the groom separately celebrated the pre-wedding customs in a traditional way at their respective homes and it was made special with the red and gold themed decor and merrymaking by family and friends.
The nikah of Naiseena and Shabin was held with all the religious customs on August 7, Sunday. After the religious ceremony, the newlyweds and guests were supposed to arrive at the St Michael's Parish Hall, Chembumukku, but a big surprise was waiting for them there.
The parish hall was all decked up and was converted into a Mughal palace to host the wedding reception.
Well, the brain behind this extravagant set was the Banana Leaf A-La- Carte caterers and event planners. As the groom already knew the group for years professionally, he had fully trusted them to create something unique and they met his expectations by creating the ambience and feel of a Mughal palace in the parish hall.
The guests who were in awe of the decor at the venue were later treated to a splendid wedding meal by the Banana Leaf A-La- Carte caterers.
The Weddingstreet team wishes Naiseena and Shabin a very prosperous and happy married life.
