Alka Sara Philip and Stani Jude John met as students at Rajagiri, Kochi. After finishing college and a three-year courtship Alka and Stani, who hails from Thiruvalla and Pala respectively, decided to start their life's journey together.
With both families' blessings, they got engaged in a colourful ceremony on April 12, 2016, at St Mary's Metropolitan Church, Changanassery. The bride mesmerised everyone in a beautiful custom-made handwoven red Kancheepuram saree and the groom looked dapper in a black bandhgala from Raymonds, Kochi.
Alka also accessorised her look with an exquisite jewellery set from Sangeeta Jewellers, Kochi.
Red and green were the predominant colours for the traditional South Indian themed engagement party which was later held at Contour Backwaters, Changanassery. While red was the colour showcased by the bride's side with their matching outfits, the groom's side showed their love for green in colour coordinated attires.
Prominent event management company Watermark Events organised and created the magical ambience for the engagement function according to the needs and preferences of the couple.
On the wedding eve both the families organised a traditional 'madhuram veppu' ceremony for the bride and the groom separately.
The family and the friends of the couple actually made the ceremony a fun filled function. The bridal party picked blue as the theme of the function.
Before the wedding, the groom who wanted to surprise his lady love kept the theme for the wedding as a little secret.
For the nuptials held at the Holy Cross Forane Church near Pala, the groom's side surprised all with their colour coordinated outfits that ranged from yellow, blue and white.
While the bride looked ravishing in a golden saree she picked from Kalyan Silks, Kochi, and later customised with the help of her aunt who also helped her to create the bespoke veil to go with the saree. She paired her saree with a diamond set from Keerthi Diamonds Jewellery, Kochi.
Her hair & makeup was done by Touch and Glow beauty clinic, Thiruvalla.
She was accompanied by seven bridesmaids who were in peach and green sarees and the two pretty flower girls wore striking golden dresses.
Stani looked handsome in a tailor-made blue suit from Raymonds.
The peach, yellow and green themed wedding reception which was later held at St Thomas College hall, Pala, was organised by St Martin Events planners.
For the reception, Alka changed into her 'manthrakodi' - a gorgeous red hand-woven Kancheepuram saree. To match her bridal saree she wore jewellery from MoD Signature Jewellers.
